5-Make a list of rules for "simple living".
6-What are your three top priorities in life?

Answers:
1. Rural - Away from city, non-metropolitan areas where people live. Typically, agricultural, woodland, mountainous and natural settings.
Urban - City-like. From the Latin word "urbs", which means "city".

2. The differences between rural and urban areas in Norway are not so large. We can settle in a rural area without being a farmer and we can visit the larger cities easily. The differences are not that huge, because we are rich and the cities are not that large.  In India, it is different; there the difference between poor and rich is huge. Therefore, they got huge cities with the newest high modern technology, but large parts of India is living in poverty. Which means the difference between rural and urban in India is great.

3. The people living in industrialized countries consume enormous amounts to fulfil their demands. In addition, we would need eight planets if every single person were going to consume that much.  We who are living in the industrialized countries does not really think and understand how much poverty it is in this world when we are going on a shopping tour buying whatever we want. We just think of ourselves as lucky who are living in a rich country.

4. The people who choose to almost go back in time and live as we did before; a simple lifestyle without modern technology, cars, machines and so forth. Why do they choose to live like this? The answer is probably that they are tired of the normal life nowadays. In addition, they probably liked it better the way it was before. They think it has gone too far and want to live simple and without all the mechanism.

5. Rules for Simple living:
You just need a few belongings.
Food and water is necessary, but don’t be greedy.
A house could be good, but as long as you have somewhere to sleep, it’s ok.
Money is trash.

6. Top 3 priorities of life:
• Live a long life
• Do a lot of cool stuff, live the life to it’s fullest.
• Food

The imitationgame

From the movie "The imitation Game"

10.  When Alan and his colleagues cracks the Enigma code, they have to make sure the Nazis do not find out what they have accomplished. What ethic choices does the Secret Service have to make to keep it a secret?
Do you agree with their choices? State the reasons for your answer.

One of the main choices the secret service takes is to keep the secret that the British has finally broken Enigma, this is a hard ethic choices because it means that lives that could be saved had to be “ignored”. They could intercept some of the nazi attacks where the scenario is a bit dodgy so the nazi’s wouldn’t figure out they had cracked their communication system. I agree with their choice of keeping it a secret since there were so many more lives saved by doing so, even though it is an extremely hard choices to make (who dies and who lives), it was something they had to endure. In the movie, Alan says; we get to play God for a while, such a hard choices, yet so important.

Our future?

I am going to discuss the statement “Modern digital technology is a blessing and the only way forward” for and against. I want to talk about the two sides of this statement and hopefully shed some light on the topic. Technology was originally made to get things done faster and more efficiently, but as more and more gadgets have been developed, more and more time is used on something else. So think about this, does technology save you time, steal your time, or both? My goal for this essay is to affect your point of view through the different arguments I present.

“Modern digital technology is a blessing and the only way forward”. What is so positive about technology you might say, think of it in a different perspective, where would we be without what we can accomplish with modern day technology? Not only has it made us able to drastically increase the productivity of let’s say the medical industry but it has also made it so that borders between countries and continents are fading away since we can communicate with whom we want and when we want.

The general wealth of a middle class person has also increased in so many ways. Most people have a have a high standard of living and everything they need or want in their daily life. Why I feel these are important statements is because without the technology we wouldn’t have achieved any of this, at least at a much slower pace. In addition to the increased wealth and health standard of the general worldwide population, we also now have a feeling of “a greater community”, what I mean is that people generally feel more connected to each other as one big nation since we know much more about each other through media and other social channels. However, with great power also comes a great responsibility. The negative sides are also an important thing to note when it comes to technology, this is something I will discuss in the next paragraph.

In modern day life and while looking for a job it is of course necessary for the applicant to have a thorough understanding in the field he is going to work as his employer will expect him to an up to date knowledge of what he is supposed to do.

Through the centuries mankind has developed through contemplation and thought, this is what has led to development. Nowadays people look for what they want to find on the internet, jumping straight from their question to an answer. By doing so you get your answer faster but you also lose what you would have figured out if you had to dig up the answer yourself. We have people who specialize in a certain field and develop new and original thoughts, this also makes it unnecessary for normal people to find the answers for themselves as they get the already pre-digested answers. The importance of research through various sources, books, articles etc. is important to gain a thorough knowledge of a subject. Relying only on the media can lead to superficial knowledge and a lack of understanding.

As we acquire more and more tech to help us out, we also at the same time become more and more dependent on it, if this gets out of control, a single electricity failure could cripple a whole city as it is so heavily dependent on its computers and other automated systems. One very important thing to note about technology is that it is only as great as the one who uses it.

“Modern digital technology is a blessing and the only way forward” is true but also debatable. Technology is now an integral part of our lives, but we must never cease to question the way we are influenced by it. It has made us able to expand at the cost that we have become utterly dependent on it. Is this the way we want the future to be?
