English, a global language

English, a global language

We were asked to write why and how english got to become a world language in five sentences.

Since Britain is an island their only way to expand territory is by boat, traveling to foreign countries all over the world, the colonies they buildt provided the locals with the distribution of the english language.

As they influenced the local populations over the world, the locals influenced the brits back with words of their own for things and creatures that were new to the british, over the centuries this made english both a world spoken language and also a very highly developed language with a vast vocabulay.

As the core of the british empire, England had a vast multi cultural society, many great thinkers and scientists who came up with new ideas was therefore british, this again lead to Britain being one of the largest sources of information.

Many people feel that english should be called something
else just because of the fact that it isn't as "british" or "english"
as one might think, the vikings and many other big "groups"
has had a big impact on the language.

With Britain being a vast and hugely expanded trade center because of their massive fleet, new words passed from one to another across the world (not only through Britain though),
new things were also discovered (that be scientifical or other things)
and those needed a name,
names fore new inventions were made in english
making it also the leading language platform
in science.
