I chose to take task one. The task is to write what is in the letter from Hasina to Nazneen that she keeps in the shoebox at the bottom of her wardrobe (the tasks are from the text called “Brick Lane”)
Just to be remembered if you read this, it may be that I got something wrong in the text J don’t judge me L

Dear sister, I cannot imagine how your life in London is like, just the thought of being so far away from you makes me sad. You were lucky that you found a husband that can take care of you, not every woman gets that. I know you have many thoughts and ideas of how we might be home, as a matter of fact, I have not talked to any of them after we ran away, and you are the first one I have contacted. I have followed the news and kept an eye on situation there and it seems like things are going ok.
The best of wishes goes to you from us, I hope that you are happy and have a better life there than what could be provided back in India. I miss you so much and every day I wish I could be with you. Malek and I are currently residing in the southern part of Mongolia, if it is any comfort, we are doing great, both of us have gotten a job and are doing ok with that.
Please write of what you have seen, how is your husband treating you, does he like you and do you like him? How is the city and the people there? Tell me of everything and everyone, of the city and the landscape, of the cultures and traditions.

Good wishes from your big sister and Malek!
