Technological dependence – better or worse?

I just read some different texts debating about the modern day technology, if it is better or worse. While there may not be a direct answer to that there are still many points of view.
One of the main focuses in the article was the one about how technology is not only taking over our spare time and holidays but also when we are at work, it told about all the different professions where people who have a sense for technology is wanted over those who prefer to use pen and paper (a bit over the top but I think you get what I mean).

So what I want to ask YOU is, do you want to be controlled by all of your gadgets and other shortcuts we have these days?

The message of the texts are about what and how we manage our daily lives, at work and home. On one side, technology is there to make our lives easier and to make things go faster. On the other side it is also stated by people who have researched this topic that multitasking often leads to less things being done.

Personally I use the web a lot and I also play a lot of games, on one side of this (what my parents may think) is that I am getting totally asocial since I’m not physically interacting with anyone, but when I’m online I skype with friends most of the time. (There you have the social talk even though it is not physically) and I learn a lot from the different things I do there (because of what I do when I am online, may not be for all), as for an example I have learned almost all of my English from playing games. At school, we often use our computers too, making every aspect of our daily life technologized.

Just think about it, how do you use you gadgets throughout the day?

Im sorry I wasnt able to post the article I read from but the link was blocked and thus not shareable.
